About The professor

Dr M Ramachandra Mohan joined as a faculty member in 1992 to the Department of Zoology and became Professor in 2000 and continuing as professor till date. 18 Years of Professorship 32 Years of P G and Research 10 Years of Administrative Experience in Bangalore University. Based on his academic achievements and research accomplishments the Govt. of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change bestowed the position of Member (CPCSEA) 2018: The Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals.Access Gazette Notification

Prof. Mohan was awarded G.P. Chatterjee Memorial National Award. (Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India) (News Clippings), View List and he carried out post-doctoral research at Ceske Budejvice, Czech republic, 1997 and also worked as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Osaka Otsu, Japan,2001. With the funding support of UNEP and ILEC. He won Best Research Award as Distinguished Scientist of the Year Award – 2008, Environmentalist of the Year Award – 2002, Scientist of The Year Award – 2001.

He successfully guided 10 Research Scholars for the award of Ph.D. degrees apart from guiding 04 M.Phil. Students. He published 100 research papers in both national and International Journals of repute. He has participated in more than 100 seminars/conferences. He has successfully completed research projects with the funding support of the University Grants Commission.

Prof. Mohan acted as a reviewer for 150 papers covering 70 International Journals. He adjudicated 124 Ph.D. theses for 20 universities. He is the author of the book entitled “Fish and their Environment: Physiological, Cellular approaches of Freshwater fish Glossogobius giuris. ISBN No 978-9381979549.and published 6 Books. Prof. Mohan acted as Peer Reviewer to 70 National and International Journals.

He also acted as an Expert Committee member for assessment of Major Research Projects funded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Prof. Mohan is now a Member of Syndicate and Academic Council and Governing Body of Many Reputed colleges.

He is also now a Member in World Commission for Environmental Law .Members of Water and Wetlands, 2017-2020.
